MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT 

Responsible for general maintenance of equipment, furniture, tools, appliances, vehicles and grounds.  General knowledge of appliances, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and carpentry repair.

DUTIES 

• Routinely check buildings, equipment and furniture to ensure they are in good repair.
• Provide general maintenance to all Carobell vehicles.
• Paint inside and out, as needed.  Pressure-wash fencing and siding
• Assess need for appliance repair.  Make repair when possible.
• Design and build special projects for special needs individuals.
• Year-round grounds maintenance.
• Perform monthly preventative maintenance on all buildings and grounds.
• Assist with repair and upkeep of handicap equipment.
• Pool and spa equipment maintenance and repair experience a plus.
• AC and heating maintenance and repair experience a plus.
• Other duties as directed.

Recruitment Standards

• High school graduate or equivalent. 
• General maintenance experience and knowledge required. 
• Experience with basic maintenance tools. 
• Must have and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license, and have a good driving record. 
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions. 
• Must have good attendance record. 
• Hours are M-F 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  On-call alternating nights and weekends.
