Service Projects

      

Groups and organizations desiring to work on service projects are welcome!  Opportunities include:

  • Boy Scout and Girls Scout Community Service
  • Marine Corps "Unit Community Service"
  • Church Adult and Youth Groups



VolunTEEN Programs: (ages 13-17)

     

Carobell offers a year round VolunTEEN program for teenagers. We are approved by Onslow County Schools as a volunteer agency for teenagers requiring volunteer SAT hours. Opportunities include:

  • Participate in group activities (arts & crafts, reading, music, aquatics to name a few)
  • Accompany staff and residents on field trips
  • Assist in outdoor and recreational activities
  • Participate in pool activities

Participation in the VolunTEEN Program requires current TB test and references.  On-Line VolunTEEN Application

 

Carobell is approved for SAT Volunteer Hours by Onslow County Public Schools.

Volunteer Program: (over 18)

   

This program allows adults to participate in the same areas as listed for VolunTEENs.  College students can participate in our program and earn hours toward Service Learning.  Adult volunteers can receive additional training to assist with preparation of meals and assisting with programming activities.  Participation in the Volunteer Program requires current TB test and 5-year background check.    On-Line Volunteer Application

   

*REIMBURSEMENT*

If TB Test or Background check is obtained through Carobell, volunteer or volunTeeN will be reimbursed the costs after volunteering for 20 hours.  Background checks are obtained electronically by our Personnel Department through employmentscreen.  The cost is $13.  The TB Test is obtained from the Jacksonville Women's Clinic.  Documentation must be obtained from Carobell.  The cost is $15.
