These days, staff who are totally committed to making the organization successful are like gold. Your continued hard work, dedication and daily contributions are relentless. We are “Carobell Strong” and remain equipped to reach out to each other through our “words” of love, gratitude and encouragement with hopes of meeting physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and practical needs of the Carobell members families and staff. Despite the challenges, big and small, we continue to face them with ample amount of grace. Carobell is always ready to promote positive opportunities for staff to express themselves.
Please join me in sharing expressions of love in our “All for Love” campaign for the month of February. It is simple, just comment below and share words of encouragement, praise reports, “I caught you doing something great moments” and or acts of kindness. Remember, an act of love no matter how great or small is always appreciated. I am truly thankful for the loving care you continue to provide to our members and families each and every day.

As I take a moment to ponder something profound and meaningful to say about love; over and over I continue to reach the same resolve, and that is this… just love. You see to me, love is simple, love is complex, love is an action, a thought, a feeling, or emotion. Love is happy, and yes, sometimes love is even sad. Love is hearing the sound of a newborn baby crying, but also love is holding your loved one’s hand as they transition into their enteral life. Love is all around us, and love is within us. It is my belief that the beauty and joy of us being placed here in the earth is to serve our greatest purpose which is to love. So today I encourage you to take a moment and ground yourself. Shut out all the noise that so often distracts us; and find your purpose in whatever it maybe, and however it may look to you, and just simply LOVE!
On Tuesday, our calendar date was 2/22/22. Wow, how often does that happen, but numbers speak.
The number 22 represents double the amount of energy. In numerology, the number 22 represents the fulfillment of one’s greatest aspirations, as well as a sense of strength and accomplishment.
May this second month of the year be your launching pad for greater aspiration, greater strength and accomplishments for you and your family.

With more than 45 years in leadership now, I’ve learned that it’s truly all about people. It doesn’t matter how smart you are, how gifted you are, or how much you know about vision and strategy. If you don’t know how to connect with and get along with people, you won’t make it far as a leader.
We’ve all made our fair share of relational mistakes, and no doubt you are grateful like I am, for the people who have been kind and patient. I appreciate the people who gave me a chance and still give me grace.
When you learn to treat people like you want to be treated, it’s amazing how much better life becomes. I’ve learned that if I put others first, life has a way of giving back in wonderfully positive ways. That’s not the motivation, but it is the blessing.
If you don’t invest in friendships, you may end up traveling through life alone. The encouraging truth is that great relationships are not that difficult. They require time, love, and the willingness to not always get your way.
Any relationship has its up and downs. During the tough times remember that love is not just a feeling, it is also a verb. Love isn’t passive. It is active.

…of the team spirit and determination to succeed; it is amazing. Working together is the key, when administration is willing to work in the homes it shows they are team players.

…of the positive atmosphere, everyone you see has a cheerful salutation. A person would never
know Carobell was short staff, and some people had to pull double shifts.

…of your kindness you demonstrate to each member 24/7, 365 days a year!

…of your observation skills, knowing what each member wants and needs without them saying a word.

…of the way you interact with each member to make them feel they are the only one that matters at that moment.

… of how you share talents and creativity with the members like sewing, crafts, and cooking! After completing their projects many of the items are sent home as gifts to the parents and guardians. A very special treat for both member and family. But one staff member went beyond that and made a member’s special pie that she really enjoyed and sent it home with her for an extra Thanksgiving goodie to share with her family! (Ingredients came from her own garden).
I Love Carobell because…
…of your compassion for each member. When a member is hospitalized, someone is with them the whole time. They are never alone. Your compassion is shown every day. It is shown by the love and interaction with each member and is rewarded with a member’s bright sunshiny smile and contagious giggly laughter.
These are just some of the many reasons I LOVE Carobell! Keep doing what you are doing. I know you would not be at Carobell unless you were driven by the passion of caring for our members. I thought the Pandemic would perhaps weaken the morale of Carobell. It has been really hard in so many ways and has affected for many families; but you are amazing! Continue what you are doing!

Do you remember the insipid refrain from the 1970 Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal movie (based on Erich Segal’s book), “Love Story”? It was, “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.” Nothing could be further from the truth. Love often entails having to say you’re sorry. But beyond saying it, true love requires you to demonstrate how much you really, truly mean it.
One of the greatest love songs ever written – “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” made famous by Roberta Flack with her version in 1969. The reason for this is that when I used to work at Brynn Marr Hospital I used to take my guitar and sing to the teen residents. I am quite sure that the reason my lovely bride, the lead teacher there, first fell in love with me had a great deal to with my performance of that particular song.

True love takes work to maintain. It takes giving more to others than what you feel you receive. True love is not just “romantic love” but the enduring love of all mankind. Putting others in perspective and loving them as you would love yourself. Jesus taught us the way to love with the two greatest commandments, First: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Second: “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself”. If we could work daily to follow these instructions from Jesus we would have a life full of love and happiness. SO SMILE! Jesus loves you! And so do I!!!
Every day I come to work I feel the love from members and staff. It has been rough going, but that did not stop our team from pulling together to ensure we are covered. Staff have been taking the initiative to assist other shifts and it warms my heart. Each interaction shows how close we are growing and showing our Carobell Strong mindset. You can see the atmosphere has had an amazing positive effect on members. Seeing members genuine smiles makes every moment worth it. Keep going team and remember you will always have a support system.

Think during this time, What can you do to show your love and support for your fellow coworkers and staff? A simple I appreciate you note, a quote of encouragement on the board, assisting with a task that needs doing. Little things show you care. I love you all.
Strive to spread love everywhere you go. Attempt to let no one ever come to you without leaving a little happier. The mind will always believe what we tell it. Feed the mind HOPE, TRUTH and LOVE.
Love is patient and kind. Love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful.
Everyone is going through something. Something as simple as a loving smile or greeting can change the atmosphere and help someone remember they are important. Let’s work on creating a “loving atmosphere” in each moment of our day! 🙂
I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. Thank you, staff, for the perpetual sunshine you always bring every time you assist our members. Love is reflected in so many ways, in every actions of your work . Everyone at Carobell emulate love every hour every minute of the day over and over YOU complete the required task with a smile, squeeze of hand, a hug and our members are better for that. The love is automatic no one is telling you or asking you to do it just Love for the member or staff .
You can’t buy this Love it’s automatic.
In the almost 11 years I’ve worked with Carobell Inc. I have learned so much and have been given endless opportunities to grow and thrive. When you become part of the Carobell family you begin to grow attachments and fall in love with members we serve. The members leave such a huge impact on each off our staff’s lives and that alone assists everyone with being their best selves and striving at work and even their outside work life. Due to the ongoing struggles in the world right now, the very hard work our staffs bringing to the table is nothing short of heroic. Carobell can and will continue to conquer all storms up ahead. “Carobell Strong” isn’t just a slogan Its a way of life.
Isn’t love the reason for it all? Whether romantic or platonic love, we are meant to share our lives with others.
